Looking Forward
Categories: What We're Doing, David's Blog
Almost every business goes through some sort of transition stage - sometimes even more than one - in really defining the long term identity. This process usually begins with a business plan that identifies a market opportunity and some type of solution to fill the identified gap. In the case of Statusfirm, we began creating online TV channels for niche markets. Markets under-serviced by main broadcast mediums like television. However, the initial business path commonly turns over stones along the way and reveals hidden gems - those "aha" moments when you recognize that almost by accident you have an opportunity to build on something special. To add to this, these "aha" moments are generally the result of a culmination of common thought process by an entire organization with a common goal.
Statusfirm had that "aha" moment 4 years after we began our journey. As one of the original founders, I have seen this transition from defining niche markets and providing online streaming content to them, through to being a product and service orientated business now focussing on our technology as the main value proposition and our production and New Media Services as the complimenting components. This is an exciting process that was the single result of an incredible group of people who have had the success of the company as their primary focus. The ability to identify this opportunity and recognize the change that needed to take place was a significant transition - One that not every organization is willing to engage.
Although these changes cannot be taken lightly, our path is clearer than ever with the commitment to productizing our technology and the ultimate goal of deploying Core Catalyst. With the addition of key members of our team the wheels are in motion, and the company is more exciting, yet focussed than ever. Sales are representative of our growth in the right direction, and guaranteed, 2010 will be our greatest year ever proving that the decision made on the strategy and focus of the company were the right ones.
I for one am so excited to be part of this incredible group of people and just thrilled to see the fruits of our labor!
